Challenge

Modernize a dated house with color, respecting the client's preference for clean, warm, soft hues. Additionally, the client wanted versatile aesthetics suitable for a future house sale.

Solution

We maximized the house's potential with a modern color palette, creating a clean, open layout and a fresh, rejuvenated look. Neutral colors complemented the client's existing colorful furniture and accessories, resulting in an elegant, relaxing, and airy space. The client was thrilled with the final result.  Then a short time later the house was successfully sold.

Interior Transformation:

Neutral colors immediately rejuvenated the house, creating an open and modern living space.

Foyer:

• We chose Shenandoah Taupe (also known as Waynesboro Taupe), a clay earth-tone reminiscent of the Southwest desert. Its adaptable taupe undertones offer a timeless and elegant feel, providing a warm and inviting entrance.

Kitchen & Living Room:

• The open-concept main gathering area features Revere Pewter, an iconic neutral that bridges warm and cool tones. This warm gray creates a cozy appeal and works well with abundant natural and artificial light, as seen in this house.

• We paired Revere Pewter with Shenandoah Taupe as an accent on one wall and the fireplace, creating a cohesive flow from the foyer.

Dining Room:

• As a separate space, the dining room called for a distinct color. We chose Quiet Moments, a stunning blend of blue and green with a subtle gray undertone, ideal for creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere.

• The ceiling was painted Light Pewter, a versatile greige that balances warm and cool tones, adding a deep sense of comfort to the space. The combination of Quiet Moments and Light Pewter created a balanced feel, neither too cool nor too warm, harmonizing beautifully with the existing wood dining set and bringing a sense of freshness to the room.

Main Bathroom

• We selected Urban Sophisticate, a tailored gray-green hue that exudes warmth and sophistication. Part of the Aura Color Stories Collection, this color is known for its bold and unique characteristics, which will stay true over time.

Office

• To create a space appealing to the whole family, we chose Sea Haze, a mid-toned neutral with soothing gray and soft green undertones. This color evokes a calming oasis, fostering a peaceful home office where focus and creativity can flow easily.

Daughter’s Bedroom

• We opted for Plaster of Paris to create a sophisticated and timeless charm, perfect for a serene and elegant, yet playful atmosphere. This soft, warm gray with subtle undertones pairs beautifully with our Snowfall White trim color and complements soft blush pinks for a modern, romantic feel, adding a touch of understated luxury to the room.
